Theodoros-Marios Giakoumakis was born in Athens, Greece. He received his Bachelor in Engineering Degree in 2013 from the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete, Greece and his Master of Science in Engineering Degree at the same department in 2016, while in parallel he has worked as a software and web developer for Chrome Web private company. The research work he conducted during his bachelor has been published in peer-reviewed conference proceedings and the research of his master is pending to be published at peer-reviewed journals.

His research interests include Optical Imaging methods, Hyper-spectral Imaging, Molecular Imaging, Dynamic Contrast Enhanced Optical Imaging, Pharmacokinetic/Compartmental Analysis/Modelling, Global Optimization methods in Dynamic Biological processes, Bio-photonics, Optical Biopsy. Moreover Time-Series Analysis, Machine Learning, Anomaly Detection, autoML protocols, Data Analytics, Feature and Variable Selection and their applications mainly in IoT.
