Biography 

Giorgos Papoutsoglou was born in Athens, Greece. He received his Integrated Master in Engineering and Master of Science degrees from the ECE School of TUC in 2005 and 2007. In 2014 he received his Ph.D. from the same School. After his Ph.D., he joined the team of Prof. Ioannis Tsamardinos as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute of Computer Science of FORTH and the CS Department of UoC. During his studies, Mr. Papoutsoglou served the ECE School of TUC as a Teaching Assistant for the courses Electronics I and Optoelectronics while, in 2019, he was Instructor at the CS Department of UoC for the postgraduate course Machine Learning.

For his doctorate research Dr. Papoutsoglou was awarded a fellowship by the EU/Greek doctorate program “Heraclitus”. He has also received a Fellowship by the Support of Researchers with emphasis on Young Scientists program, NSRF 2014-2020. He is co-author of 12 peer-reviewed publications in well-respected Journals and international Conference Proceedings in the field of his research. Currently, his research focuses on Machine Learning methods for the analysis of biomedical data, particularly single cell data.
